I've never related more to a caricature in my entire life; or well maybe to BoJack Horseman, but I know many wouldn't side with me on that.
I remember Courage the Cowardly Dog used to scare me when I was a child, so I only got to really appreciate its beauty recently. I'm aware I'm about to start sounding like every old person sounds when they're trying to defend some old cartoon from their time, but I guess it's just human nature.
I honestly think those old Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon cartoons had much more color depth than the ones that exist now. Again, all this 'progress' in a computerized direction might end up leading us back to basics all over again one day. Digital colours are just so different, and characters made in 3D renders feel much less 'artsy' than the ones we had back in our day.
I have to say I like some new animated cartoons like Adventure Time and Uncle Grandpa, among others, because they explore new forms of narrative and are surrealistic and philosophical in a way, but I still miss the colour palettes from the nineties and some of the drawing talent on display from back then. I just realized I have to accept that times are changing and it's tough, lol.
