MADLANGA COMMISSION: Johnson and Batohi’s probe to link Andrew Chauke to Cat Matlala outed at inquiry
The Madlanga Commission has heard that former national public prosecutions boss Shamila Batohi wanted an investigation into whether her Gauteng counterpart, Andrew Chauke, was linked to organised crime accused Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala. Chauke was later the focus of an unrelated fitness-for-office inquiry, set up at Batohi’s insistence, which cleared him.
