My cart this week held two boxes of crayons, a nap mat, a pile of glue sticks, and a lunch box with dinosaurs on it. My five-year-old starts kindergarten in a week, and my three-year-old heads back to preschool a few days after that. Nothing in that cart was a spiral notebook. I have not bought one in almost two years, because my reusable Rocketbook Pro 2.0 took over the job, and I did not have to trade paper for another glowing screen to make it work. My first-gen iPad Pro sits three feet from me and could handle notes just fine. I still reach for the notebook.
