Indonesia hit by 7.7 magnitude quake, tsunami waves recorded
A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck off eastern Indonesia on August 15, killing at least two people and triggering tsunami warnings. Several aftershocks followed the quake, while tsunami waves of less than one metre were recorded in some areas. Rescue teams are working to recover victims and evacuate residents in Maumere.
