Hilary Duff showed her fans exactly what dreams are made of when she hit the stage of Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre wearing a Toronto Blue Jays jersey.

But not just any jersey. Pfft, that’s for amateurs.

Duff, 38 (but looking more like 28), donned a royal blue Joe Carter jersey at one point during Wednesday’s show, according to a clip shared on I Heart Radio Canada’s Instagram page .

How she snagged the jersey

The pop singer shared the “cute story” of how she was able to snag the pristine No. 29 vintage piece, explaining it belonged to her “amazing, lovely” sound engineer and tour manager J.D., who saved up all his money when he was just eight years old to buy classic memorabilia.

“Thanks for letting me sweat in your jersey tonight,” the Lizzie McGuire star added with a smirk, noting how it’s been “fun to represent” herself and fans with T-shirts and other treasured items.

“I know this one was going to mean something to you guys so, very proud to wear it,” she added.

Duff also tried a Loonie Dog so obviously the Blue Jays’ crack social media team made sure to share a video of it in all its glory.

Hilary brings short-lived luck to the Jays

The Lucky Me World Tour, which spans seven countries including Canada, the United States, the U.K. and Australia, marks her first global headlining run in nearly 20 years and features songs from her newest album luck… or something .

And it must have been “luck… or something” as the Blue Jays won their third straight game against the Boston Red Sox 6-4 on the same night as Duff’s first of two shows in Toronto.

Sadly, the Jays winning streak ended on Thursday, getting trounced by the Red Sox 7-0 .

The Jays are about to embark on the toughest stretch part of their schedule so far — a three-game series against the Yankees at home before heading to Tampa to play the AL East-leading Rays, then heading to the Bronx to play the Yankees yet again. Oof.

Meanwhile, Duff’s next two stops are in Michigan before she heads across the pond next month to embark on the U.K. leg of her tour.

Perhaps she wouldn’t mind putting that Carter jersey back on, just to get the Jays deeper into the wild-card race?
