MANILA, Philippines — The effects of the southwest monsoon, or habagat, may intensify over the weekend, bringing heavy rains in more areas in Luzon, the state weather bureau said.  The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist John Manalo said during the 5 p.m. weather advisory that portions of Zambales and Bataan remained under orange warning on Saturday, projecting up to 30 millimeters (mm) of rain.
