This 1970 BMW 2002 is a European-market example that was delivered new to importer Förenade Bil in Malmö, Sweden. It is said to have remained in Sweden since and was acquired by the seller in 2020. The car is finished in Atlantic over black vinyl and gray fabric, and power is provided by a 2.0-liter M10 inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 15″ Melber L165 wheels, H&R lowering springs, Bilstein B6 dampers, and dual side mirrors. This BMW 2002 is now offered in Sweden with an owner’s manual, an accessories booklet, spare parts, a car cover, two sets of wheels, and Swedish registration in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Atlantic (041), and exterior features include dual side mirrors, pop-out rear windows, a heated rear windscreen, and twin exhaust outlets. The front fenders are believed to have been replaced and show paint inconsistencies, and the seller notes that a replacement nose panel appears to have been installed. The car rides on 15″ basketweave-style Melber L165 wheels mounted with 195/55 Toyo Proxes tires, and stopping is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The Toyo tires are said to have been installed in 2021 along with 30mm H&R lowering springs and Bilstein B6 dampers. The fenders have been rolled. The seats are trimmed in black vinyl with gray fabric inserts, and the interior is appointed with salt-and-pepper carpeting and rubber floor liners. The door locks require force to operate; however, the seller reports no issues closing the doors.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 200-km/h speedometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 27k kilometers (~17k miles), approximately 1,500 kilometers of which were added under current ownership. The clock does not work.
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was factory equipped with a Solex carburetor and was factory rated at 113 horsepower and 116 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The battery was replaced in 2021, and the ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, breaker points, ignition leads, and spark plugs were replaced in 2022, according to the seller. The carburetor is said to have been cleaned and resealed in 2024. The most recent oil change was performed in 2026. Compression test results from 2021 are shown in the gallery detail between ~10.5 and 11.5 bar across all four cylinders. When cold, the transmission is noted to make noise shifting from first to second gear. The seller notes that the car requires additional cranking to start after sitting for an extended period due to the mechanical fuel pump.
